SEVENTEEN fans are well aware of DK's infectious charm. After all, Lee Seokmin has been given the nickname "sunshine" by Carats because of his ability to cheer people up with his humor and positivity. Interestingly, all that enthusiasm may have gone a little too far in the latest episode of Going Seventeen. Dokyeom was evidently so excited to play Human Chess that he couldn't stay still.

The latest episode of Going Seventeen 2020 was titled Human Chess #1 and it featured the boy group being split into two different teams. It is also the first episode of the variety show that S.Coups filmed since his return from hiatus. The premise of the episode was the idea of Wonwoo, who also served as the host of the game. Not surprisingly, it was more than just a straight-forward chess game as it called for the members of SEVENTEEN to play mini-games in between.

In Human Chess #1, Wonwoo was assigned to be the leader of the team that included S.Coups, Jun, Woozi, DK, Seungkwan, and a mannequin they named Venteen. Mingyu, who had won the previous episode Brain Show, was chosen to lead the team consist of Jeonghan, Joshua, Hoshi, The8, Vernon, and Dino. Not surprisingly, the two team leaders were quick to discuss their game strategy with their own members. However, Lee Seokmin was clearly too excited to get started to truly pay attention to the plan.

Early on, it was obvious that DK was being very energetic even as the rules and teams were being announced. Lee Seokmin kept dancing around instead of listening to the staff or interacting with his fellow idols. Once the game had started, Dokyeom kept dancing around even when he was already in his place on the human chessboard. In addition to that, the lead vocalist kept pretending to be a robot getting ready for action.

Although DK was the one who was eager to get in the game, the other players were first given a chance to make their move. At one point, Lee Seokmin called to Seungkwan to allow him to make the next move and Boo Seungkwan immediately allowed him to give it a go. This meant that Dokyeom would have to go up against Hoshi in an arm wrestling match. Despite all the enthusiasm, DK still lost to Kwon Soonyoung.

Interestingly, this didn't mean that DK's team had lost but the exact opposite. Lee Seokmin has been labelled as one of the three "bad ghosts" in the game and killing him would mean a penalty. Since Dokyeom was the last "bad ghost", his loss actually led to a victory for his team.

The next episode of Going Seventeen 2020 will air on Monday, May 18 at 10:10 KST.
