There is little doubt that every episode of Going Seventeen is always entertaining. After all, the variety show that features the members of SEVENTEEN taking on unusual games and missions is made even more hilarious by their own personalities. However, the latest episode of the show has left fans in utter confusion. Should Carats really believe any of the food facts that the idols were sharing in Delivery Food Fighter #1?
The latest episode of Going Seventeen 2020 is titled Delivery Food Fighter #1 and it initially appears like the boy group would be sampling some special dishes that have been delivered for them. Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino all settle down on a long table in preparation of several dishes to consume. However, since this is Going Seventeen, fans are already expecting that this is more than just a mukbang episode.
Early on in the episode, there is a disclaimer that flashes on the screen. "This concept is a concept based on telling only false facts. If a truth was told, it was edited out. We hope there is no misunderstanding on this part."
From there, Carats were already wary of what will happen in Delivery Food Fighter #1 and it isn't long before some of the hilarious "food facts" are revealed. The first dish that is brought out is Peon-Yukhoe, which is basically Korean Beef Tartare. When the members discuss where the dish originated from, Seungkwan quickly pointed out that it was created when someone wanted to satisfy their craving for sashimi but there was no fish available. To make up for this, they decided to make "meat sashimi" instead.
Interestingly, Jeonghan revealed how Peon-Yukhoe came to be. The vocalist explained that there was only Yukhoe in the beginning and people felt that they couldn't taste the texture of the meat because it was too thin. They then decided to cut the meat like sashimi and that was how Peon-Yukhoe was invented. Not surprisingly, Hoshi wasn't convinced and asked if Yoon Jeonghan was telling the truth but the latter explained that it was just his opinion.
Hoshi himself would come up with some interesting "food facts" later on in the episode. The SEVENTEEN Performance Unit leader revealed that avocados caused drought in the past. Kwon Soonyoung explained that avocado farms would cause droughts since the fruits would take in too much water. Interestingly, the other members wondered if this was true or not.
