It has already been established that SEVENTEEN is a self-producing idol group that is fully involved with making their own songs, choreography, and even fan chants. However, the members' creativity goes beyond their own music. S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino will soon be celebrating their fifth anniversary since their debut in 2015. In line with that, the members of SVT have designed awesome new t-shirts to commemorate the anniversary and they have revealed the inspiration behind their designs in a new video.
On April 24, it was revealed that SEVENTEEN had designed special t-shirts for their fifth anniversary which will be on May 27. It was confirmed that there will be 13 t-shirts released, each of which were specially designed by a member of the boy group. The designs were also revealed to have a special meaning for the idols. This was confirmed through a new video where S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino were shown creating their t-shirts and explaining what inspired them to come up with the designs.
In the latest episode of Inside Seventeen, the members of the boy group were gathered to work on their t-shirts for which the theme would be "hope". Jeonghan was first to explain that although he isn't good at drawing, he sketched his idea so that the staff could improve on it. Yoon Jeonghan stated that he wanted a toy rabbit to appear slumped in the front of the t-shirt while a caricature of himself would be featured in the back holding the rabbit as a puppet. The vocalist also admitted that he chose the design because he loves rabbits.
Hoshi had a similar idea of being inspired by animals but his choice was a tiger print. Kwon Soonyoung opted for a full tiger print on the t-shirt along with a drawing of a tiger to give his fans the power of the tiger in 2020. Meanwhile, avid photographer Wonwoo chose to put a camera on his t-shirt along with prints of pictures he had taken. Jeon Wonwoo also chose to add some of his favorite phrases to the shirt.
The other members of SEVENTEEN also shared sweet personal touches to their designs. For instance, S.Coups added a baby picture of himself holding a balloon because he believes that it represents hope. Choi Seungcheol also revealed that a part of the proceeds from the t-shirts will be donated for those in need.
The SEVENTEEN fifth anniversary t-shirts were released for pre-order on the group's WeVerse shop on April 27. Not surprisingly, all 13 designs were sold out in the first five minutes alone.
