As a self-producing idol group, SEVENTEEN does almost everything on their own. In addition to writing and producing their own music, the members of the boy group work on the dance choreography for their songs. The idols have even come up with ideas for their variety show Going Seventeen where the members are shown taking on hilarious challenges and missions. So it's no surprise that SEVENTEEN actually comes up with the fan chants for their own songs and makes videos to teach their fans.
Carats already know that the members of SEVENTEEN are very hands-on when it comes to their craft. S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino have each been credited for writing lyrics for their songs which are also produced by Lee Jihoon. The choreography for their dances are then created by Kwon Soonyoung, who works with another choreographer. Then, to make sure the fans know when to chant during their performances, the idols make special videos where they teach Carats the special fan chants for each song.
Although it may take some time before SEVENTEEN can perform their new single 'Fallin' Flower' for their fans due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the idols have decided to make a video teaching Carats the new special fan chant. The fan chant video first shows S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino going through the fan chant along with a recording of the song. Once it is over, the members also take the time to offer some tips on how to properly go through the chant. The boy group pointed out that Carats must do breathing exercises to get through the song.
At one point, SEVENTEEN suggests that fans should take a deep breath right after singing The8's name. In the fan chant, the idol's Korean name is "Seo Myungho" and they all pointed out that Carats should exhale while saying "Myung" then inhale deeply when saying "Ho." They even took time to demonstrate the breathing so fans can practice. The members then did a test run of the part in 'Fallin' Flower' where Carats chant each idols' name right at the end.
It's an awesome video that once again confirms how SEVENTEEN is involved with everything that they come up with, even the fan chants for their own songs. Unfortunately, it is still unclear when the boy group will be able to perform the new song in front of Carats since their Japanese Dome Tour has been cancelled due to COVID-19. Nevertheless, the delay should give fans enough time to practice the fan chant.
