Donald Trump has dropped new "bombshell" statements during one of the daily White House briefings. After the country's intelligence community reportedly attested, "for the first time," that COVID-19 "was not manmade" nor "genetically modified," the US President's statements "went much further," as per reports.

It was noted, however, that the United States' top intelligence agency still went on to emphasize that it will continue to "rigorously examine" all "emerging information" to conclude finally the source of the virus. As stated, the institution will determine whether it began "through contact" with animals infected by the virus or through an "accident" in a Wuhan laboratory.

As per CNN, these assertions from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence came as an "acknowledgement" to the efforts made by the officials of Donald Trump's administration. As reported, "multiple sources" told the publication that the officials have been "pushing" the intelligence community to, once and for all, identify the "exact origins" of the outbreak.

The statements reportedly went on record just prior to the US President's briefing, where he made his "bombshell" claims.

According to CNBC, Donald Trump was asked by a reporter during Thursday's briefing inside the White House. It was said that the question mainly targeted the "origins of the virus."

The US President reportedly answered that the public has already "heard all different things." He also added that there have been "three or four" concepts already as to how the virus came out.

Although he did not go through each of the "concept" that he stated, Trump asserted that there will be an "answer" to the question in the "not-so-distant future." He then said that this answer will definitely define how he truly feels about China.

After sharing these statements, Donald Trump was reportedly asked again by a reporter if he had "seen anything" that gives him a "high degree of confidence" that the virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Without citing any reference, he shortly responded that "yes," he has.

This response had reportedly caused a deep pressing from the press to know what exactly he has seen that gave him confidence. However, the US President "demurred" and said that he cannot tell as he is "not allowed."

In the end, though, Donald Trump repeated that there were "a lot of theories" to work on. However, reports said that he seemingly holds out "hope" that Beijing would eventually speak of the truth behind the origin of the virus. "China may tell us," he added.
