It was Prince Harry who filmed the video of his wife, Meghan Markle, reading to their son, Archie Harrison, which was shared on the eve of the boy's first birthday. The adorable clip was, reportedly, taken last weekend as the Sussexes have been isolating from their home in California.
The video was shared via the Save the Children Instagram account to help raise funds for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. It has since received nearly a million views and almost 5,000 comments of mostly royal fans gushing over how much little Archie looks like his dad.
Meghan read "Duck! Rabbit" to her cheeky one-year-old boy, who was dressed in a clean white romper. Fans said that Archie looks like Prince Harry's mini-me with his red hair and naughty grin.
Royal fans also praised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for depicting the "realities of parenting" since Archie appeared to try to wriggle out of his mother's grip a few times. Meghan, on the other hand, kept a hold of her son and managed to keep him interested with the book by making duck noises or kissing his face.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry can be heard laughing behind the camera as Meghan and Archie struggle to finish reading the book. At one point, Archie actually calls out to his "dada" in the video. The little boy also tried to chew the book, earning more laughs from his father.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth led the royal family in sending greetings to Archie, her eighth great-grandchild, on social media for his first birthday. The Royal Family social media accounts posted photos of Archie from his christening day.
Prince William and Kate Middleton also posted a photo of Archie, along with a birthday greeting and a red balloon emoji. Prince Charles also did not forget to greet his grandson on his first birthday. The Prince of Wales posted a photo of himself next to Prince Harry as he was carrying his son in his arms.
Archie, whose full name is Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was welcomed in the royal family on May 6, 2019 at London's Portland Hospital. His arrival makes him the seventh in line to the British throne.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that Archie will be raised as a normal, private individual without any royal titles. If he chooses to, however, his name can be styled as Master Archie when he is older.
