Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been preparing for their tell-all book for two years. However, they did not expect the events that unfolded before them, leading up to their royal exit in March.

The author of Prince Harry and Meghan's newest biography, Omid Scobie, revealed that the Sussex pair never anticipated the twists and turns of their departure from the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been planning for a quiet exit. Instead, their alleged "rift" with the royal family became one of the hottest topics in the media circles.

Now, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family will tell the details surrounding their royal exit sans the speculation and the rumors. The 320-page book is up for release in August and has since become a bestseller among the pre-orders at Amazon within 24 hours of its announcement.

Scobie said that the book will also have previously unknown details about Prince Harry and Meghan's life. The author, along with Carolyn Durand, were granted a unique access into the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hence this book will be an up-close and personal portrait of the influential pair.

"I've seen the couple remain faithful in their own beliefs and stand strong in the face of adversities which have been publicly played out in the press," Scobie, who trailed the Sussexes for months for this book, said. "I would like to think this tells the definitive version of their lives together."

Meanwhile, some royal experts said that they received a cancellation notice of their pre-order for Prince Harry and Meghan's tell-all book. Dick Arbiter shared on his social media account that his pre-order on Amazon was canceled by the publisher.

However, Scobie revealed that there was a mistake in the Kindle listing of Finding Freedom for U.K. buyers. That technical glitch, however, has been fixed and those who received a cancellation notice can reorder again and it will go through this time.

This book comes as Prince Harry and Meghan are trying to settle into their new life in Los Angeles amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Sussex royals were supposed to launch their new foundation, Archewell, this spring but they decided to delay their plans due to the public health crisis.

Instead, the couple has been doing low-key work since arriving in L.A. in the middle of March, just as the stay-at-home orders have been enforced. Prince Harry and Meghan said that their time during the lockdown was a great chance to bond with each other, especially with their growing son, Archie, who recently turned one.
