RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have been in the entertainment industry for almost a decade. The boys have been together from hardships to success, which is why it’s hard to imagine BTS with one less member.

While BTS is fully intact at the moment, Suga talked about the possibility of someone wanting to leave the group. While it is painful for ARMYs to even think that this could happen, Suga confirmed that they have been getting themselves ready if they will be faced with that situation in the future.

In Episode 1 of BTS’s new docuseries, Break The Silence, BTS opened up about a lot of things, including the moment when they considered disbanding in 2018. It was the year that the boys experienced a lot of pressure and doubts that it became too much for them to handle. In the end, J-Hope described 2018 as “one of our best years.”

Suga then shed some light on what would happen if a member decided to leave the group. The BTS rapper shared that they would do everything in their power to persuade that member to stay.

“We’ve become closer than family, in a way,” Suga explained. “We can put everything else aside, and talk freely about how we can move forward and improve… We also respect each other, so if someone said that they can’t do this anymore because of certain reasons, of course, we’d try to persuade that person, think it over together, and overcome difficulties.”

However, Suga noted that they will not force someone to do something that they don’t want to do anymore. So if that member still wants to leave BTS after their persuasion, they are open to letting him go.

“But if that’s still not enough, we can say, ‘We understand. It’s your life, so we respect that,'” he said.

While Suga’s revelation may have caused a lot of heartaches, ARMYs should bear in mind that BTS is planning to stay together for a very long time. RM even explained what keeps their group together.

“I’ve said this several times, but the seven of us are on a boat, looking in different directions, but going the same way. That’s how I describe BTS,” he said. “Some might feel sad because I said we’re looking in different directions, but I think that even my parents sometimes look at different places. I think they’d look in different directions at times. It’s kind of like that.”
