The first season of Star Trek: Picard might be over but that doesn't mean Trekkies will no longer be seeing more of Jean-Luc Picard. The wildly successful CBS All Access series has already been renewed for a second season which is expected to resume production later this year. However, it looks like at least one particular character will not be returning for Star Trek: Picard Season 2. Lead star Patrick Stewart has just revealed that one of the cast members will not be back for the next chapter of the show.

There is little doubt that the first season of Star Trek: Picard was awesome because of the sheer number of Star Trek: The Next Generation characters that showed up in the series. In addition to bringing back Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, fans got to see Brent Spiner as Data, Jonathan Frakes as Will Riker, Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi, Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine, and Jonathan Del Arco as Hugh. Moreover, there were also several awesome new faces that were introduced in the show. Unfortunately, Stewart somehow leaked that one of these actors will not be back for Season 2.

Patrick Stewart recently spoke to Gold Derby where he expressed his love for the cast of Star Trek: Picard. Interestingly, the screen legend also confirmed that everyone is coming back to the series except for one particular actor.

"We have a dazzling group of actors. No matter who I find myself playing a scene with, it is interesting, unusual, challenging, and always exciting. And every one of us is back," Stewart revealed. He then shared that they had to bid farewell to one of their Season 1 cast mates.

"Well, I think we may have said goodbye to Harry Treadaway, which I am disappointed about because I enjoyed working with him so much," Stewart said.

This is an interesting revelation considering that Narek started out as a bad guy. However, he eventually had a change of heart as he chose to help Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of La Sirena by offering himself up as a prisoner, allowing them to escape in the season finale. From there, the Romulan somehow disappeared and fans wondered what has happened to him. Hopefully, Narek's fate will be confirmed in Star Trek: Picard Season 2.

The second season of Star Trek: Picard has not yet been given an official release date. However, the show is expected to return on CBS All Access by 2021.
