CHURROS

This Mexican fried-dough pastry, which originated in Portugal and Spain, is a simple dish that will make you crave for more. Best served with a dip of chocolate, milk, caramel, or other sweet treats, churros' is best for all ages. If you have kids, they will surely love to dig in too.

INGREDIENTS

The things you will be needing for the batter are these: a cup of water, 2.5 tbsp. of sugar, 0.5 tsp. of salt, 2 tbsp. of oil, and 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Other ingredients you will need are 2 quarts of oil, which you will use for frying, and half a cup of white sugar and one teaspoon of ground cinnamon for coating, as instructed by All Recipes.

PROCEDURES

The first thing to do is to combine all the ingredients to create the batter; water, sugar, salt, oil, and all-purpose flour. Mix well until everything is well incorporated and has already turned into a dough.

Second is to fry the batter in a deep pot for 190 degrees Celsius. Using a pastry bag with a medium star tip, create 6-inch strips of dough. You can do that by cutting the batter using kitchen scissors or a knife.

When frying it is crucial not to burn the batter as it would negatively affect the taste. Fry the batter in a medium-low fire only until golden and drain the excess oil with clean paper towels.

The third and final step is to coat your churros with sugar and cinnamon. You can do that by combining these two ingredients in a plate and rolling your churros into it. Make sure to coat your churros perfectly with the cinnamon-sugar blend for a more flavorful treat.
