The next generation flagship iPhone series is anticipated to launch sometime in Sept 2020. One of the earlier rumors about the iPhone 12 series is that it would ship with Apple's A14 Bionic chip and run on iOS 14. A recent iOS 14 leak reveals that the upcoming chipset from Apple could feature a new AR app capable of reinventing QR codes.

Over the past months, the industry has seen leaks about the iOS 14. The latest comes from Josh Constine, who was previously with Techcrunch. In his newsletter dubbed as Moving Product, Constantine shared a new set of leaks, including Apple QR codes, sounds for the anticipated Apple Tags, as well as details on the company's work on an AR app.

Based on the leak, it looks like the Cupertino tech giant is integrating a new QR code format that utilizes colored cones. The files are reportedly found in the AR app called Gobi, which Apple is allegedly developing. The tipster also mentioned that QR codes open Apple Watch and Mac Pro websites, Starbucks Card sign-up, and even "Star Wars: Rogue One" movie on iTunes.

One interesting part of the rumored Gobi app on iOS 14 is its integration with Starbucks. It appears that the QR code would allow users to sign up on the spot, enabling them to avail of promotions available on their respective locations. The sign-up offer could get users a 20% discount, for instance.

In Mar 2020, 9to5Mac first reported about the new AR app for Apple's iOS 14. It mentioned that it could enable users to collect more information on the world around them by utilizing an AR experience. The report also said that the new AR app could gather information on products at the Apple Store based on QR codes and use the live view of the camera.

Constine also shared details about the Find My app, which, according to him, might feature new vibration and sound cues. This way, users could easily find their devices when using the app. The Find My app reportedly produces specific sounds as the user gets closer to a device. There is also a particular sound that plays when the user is moving farther from the device he is looking for.

Aside from those mentioned earlier, the iOS 14 is also rumored to introduce a new home screen view, as well as the PencilKit API. Whispers online claim that the upcoming Apple software would integrate a new fitness app as well as allow users to set third-party apps as default email client and browser.
