Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, have been staying inside Brikhall amid the COVID-19 crisis. But, prior to the pandemic, the royal couple only enjoys some time in the royal residence located in Scotland during vacations. Reports noted that this is where the Prince of Wales and his wife take their breaks from royal duties and work as they feel relaxed in this residence.

Originally, Queen Elizabeth II, reportedly, owned the property. But, she gifted the royal residence to her firstborn son, later on. So, Prince Charles and Camilla have since maintained the area.

Despite enjoying their time alone in the Aberdeenshire property, they, oftentimes, invited guests to join them. There were even a few times in the past when Carole and Michael Middleton joined them in the property, according to Express UK.

The first time Kate Middleton's parents were invited was when Prince William, reportedly, organized an engagement in Birkhall. Although it was part of his annual "country pursuits" in the area, it was a special event. As explained, this, reportedly, happened just after the announcement of his engagement to the now-Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince Charles also extended the invitation when he, reportedly, "lent" the use of his "ghillies." This was said for the purpose of the Middletons' enjoyment of shooting and fishing.

Aside from the invite in 2010, Carole and Michael Middleton also went to Birkhall in 2014. While the purpose of the invite was not revealed, things seemingly went well for the Wales and the Middleton families.

However, things, reportedly, changed two years later. In 2016, several reports emerged claiming that Prince Charles has put his invitations to Carole and Michael Middleton to a halt. He "stopped" inviting Kate Middleton's parents, according to the Daily Mail.

Royal expert and analyst, Katie Nicholl, reportedly, revealed that an ongoing rift between the Heir Apparent and the Duchess of Cambridge's parents. The infamous feud was even branded as the "Battle Royal."

As explained, this came after the Prince of Wales realized that he had spent very little time with his grandchildren, especially Prince George. There were accusations that Carole and Michael Middleton were very "possessive" of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as their kids.

In a similar report released by New Idea, Prince Charles even, reportedly, became "vocal" about the matter and, allegedly, said that his son's "in-laws" never let him see his grandson. As alleged, the Prince of Wales "loaded" his rants to his circle of friends, who in return shared these things to others.

In the end, though, these speculations have remained unattended and unconfirmed. But, royal experts, alongside publications, have seemingly continued to share these claims, even in recent years.
