Reese Witherspoon has been rumored having marital problems in the past months. Some tabloids claimed it was due to coronavirus pandemic lockdown but another alleged it was because of professional rivalry.
In Touch published a story recently claiming Witherspoon's nine-year marriage to Jim Toth is about to end because of professional rivalry. The tabloid alleged that the couple has been having issues, but things got intensified after they both started work from home because of the pandemic. Apparently, Reese and Jim developed a professional rivalry while doing their jobs at home.
It claimed that when Toth launched the streaming service, Quibi, last month, it did not have the outcome that he expected. On the other hand, Witherspoon has been successful in any ventures that she put her hands on. This alleged opposing results in the couples' respective business ventures causing tension between them.
Then the tabloid enumerated what it called "warning signs" that the couple's marriage is crumbling. It alleged that the Big Little Lies actress didn't give her husband a shoutout on her social media accounts on their wedding anniversary in March though she always did it in the past. In Touch also claimed the couple sold their house last month.
What the tabloid failed to mention was the fact that the couple did purchase a new house together in Malibu last year. The actress and Jim bought a $6.25 million farm in the rolling foothills above Malibu's Zuma Beach.
Gossip Cop also debunked the rumor that quarantine sparked tension between Reese and Jim and that they are heading to divorce. The publication cited Witherspoon's interview for the June 2020 issue of Candis magazine. In the said interview, The Morning Show star talked about her husband and their marriage.
Witherspoon gushed about having a "lovely easy relationship" with Toth. She said everything is working out between them and they always have the best time together. This doesn't look like a wife who is having marital problems at all.
Meanwhile, this is not the only divorce rumor about Witherspoon in the past months. Last month, NW claimed that Reese and Tim's marriage is hanging by a thread.
The tabloid alleged Reese was quarantining at her Pacific Palisades mansion while Jim was staying in their home in Malibu. It also cited a source who claimed the couple's friends revealed that the pair has been living separately for almost a year now.
The tabloid alleged that the busy schedule of Reese and Jim was the reason for their supposed failing marriage. However, the claim was made amidst the actress' recent appearance on Miley Cyrus' Instagram show, Bright Minded: Live With Miley, wherein she said her entire family is quarantining together.
