EXO Baekhyun's solo comeback with the album Delight was a massive hit, breaking sales records and topping real-time charts after its release. Baekhyun also surpassed his record from his first solo album.

According to a report by Soompi, Hanteo chart released data that showed Baekhyun's new album Delight breaking Kang Daniel's record for most albums sold in a week. The new album sold 600,908 within a day of its release. Baekhyun also broke his record for solo album sales as his previous album, City Lights sold 380,769 within the first week.  

Apart from album sales, Delight also set a personal record for Baekhyun in terms of pre-orders. According to data from SM Entertainment,  the mini-album surpassed 732,297 stock pre-orders before its release on May 25.

Upon its release, Baekhyun's title track Candy also topped Korean real-time charts and reached No. 1 in Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Soribada.

Baekhyun, in an interview, admitted that his new album was named Delight because he wanted to spread joy to his fans. He also said that the album was also a nod to his original concept as a member of EXO, wherein he was introduced as an idol gifted with the power of light. This was also the same reason why his debut album was named City Lights.

He said that he was both nervous and excited about his new album because it gave him the chance to explore different genres of music. He described Candy as a trendy R &B song. Apart from R & B, Baekhyun said that he developed an interest in rock ballads that had a lasting impression on him while working on his new music.

He also thanked his EXO members for their support for his solo release. He said that all the members liked the song and wished him well.In particular, EXO leader Suho and Chanyeol even went to visit him during the filming of the music video to cheer him on.

Baekhyun is expected to be very busy with solo promotions this year ahead of his expected enlistment in the military. Apart from his solo album, the EXO member and SuperM leader recently collaborated with BOL4 for the song Leo which also ranked high in the charts. After Suho's recent enlistment, '91 and '92 liners Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Chen are also expected to report for mandatory enlistment this year.
