The world's famous detective is back again as Frogwares Games official reveals "Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One." The upcoming action-adventure title arrives on current generation gaming consoles Xbox One and PS4 as well as on PC on 2021. The gaming studio also confirms that the game launches on next-generation gaming consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X.

"Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One" is a prequel game that shows a younger version of the fan-favorite detective, Frogwares reveals. The main protagonist is more volatile in this game compared to other titles in the series, the gaming studio adds. Sherlock teams up with a companion named Jon, but not the equally popular Dr. John Watson.

It appears that the young Sherlock in the upcoming title travels to the Mediterranean as he wrestles with the death of his mother and battles with local corruption. "Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One" players could choose to let Jon solve things by deductive skills or by force. A crucial component of the gameplay appears to be finding vulnerabilities in opponents and leveraging on the environment.

Just like earlier titles in the series, there are two sides to every story in "Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One." Players could always find the truth; however, it would not always be the happiest outcome. Game developer Frogwares assures players that the upcoming title would 'shape the man they would become.' Aside from the upcoming action-adventure title, the studio released the game "Sinking City" in 2019.

Reviews of "The Sinking City" revealed that the game has a lot of bugs and technical issues. It includes disappearing NPCs as well as AI issues. Some players also complained about the Xbox 360-like graphics of the game, according to Gamerant. Hopefully, Frogwares Games has made sure that Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One" would not have similar issues.

The action-adventure title features the fan-favorite detective talking to characters and looking for clues in the environment. Similar issues would make the game unplayable. Also, "Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One" releases on next-generation gaming consoles Xbox Series X and PS5. It could be an assurance to fans that the game has better quality graphics since both consoles support 8K graphics.

Aside from the announcement, Frogwares Games also releases the official reveal trailer of "Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One." Although the game's release window is still several months away, fans can now take a look at the game. "Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One" arrives on current and next-generation gaming consoles as well as on PC in 2021.
