Katie Holmes is reportedly throwing all her pride away as she begs for money from Tom Cruise. A tabloid claimed the Dawson's Creek actress has been desperately in need of money since projects have been scarce because of the health crisis.
New Idea published a new report claiming Holmes has made a "humiliating" choice to turn to her ex-husband for help to avoid her "financial ruin." A source of the tabloid claimed the Batman Begins actress has huge expenses but she is unable to pay for it because of lack of projects.
The entertainment industry has been hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic as many TV shows, films, concerts, and other activities have been postponed or canceled because of the pandemic. The insider said Katie has lost a lot of income from event appearances and product endorsements that were lined up for her.
Gossip Cop noted that the rumors about Holmes having financial problems were not new. It has been around even before the COVID-19 pandemic started. These have been tabloids' favorite narrative when it comes to the Ray Donovan actress.
For instance, In Touch published the same story about Holmes a few weeks ago. It alleged that Suri Cruise's mother is regretting seeking a divorce from the Mission: Impossible actor as she is now running out of cash.
Katie is allegedly desperately looking for ways on how to land a job at this time. In Touch added it wouldn't be surprising if, after the pandemic, Holmes and other celebrities would be forced to ask for less than they normally collect or accept "humiliating gigs" just to have a job.
The tabloid also linked Katie's alleged financial troubles to her divorce from Cruise. The source of the outlet claimed Holmes should have secured a hefty financial settlement before she walked away from Tom.
Both New Idea and In Touch stories were dismissed by Holmes' camp. The actress rep assured that Katie is doing just fine in terms of finances.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes split may be one of the celebrity divorces in history that reached settlement very quickly. But it doesn't mean the First Daughter actress rushed her decision and she is now regretting not asking for more in their settlement.
It is worth noting that Katie's main reason for filing for divorce was Suri. She asked for full custody of her daughter and she also made sure that they would agree that the child would have no relationship with Cruise's Church of Scientology.
As for the monetary settlement, there have been reports that the ex-couple settled for $4.8 million for child support. Holmes also reportedly received $5 million for her.
