Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is working on a tight budget, meaning some of his high-profile targets may be beyond reach. One of the big names on his wish list is Jadon Sancho, someone who costs roughly $150 million. Though the Red Devils have been infused with additional funds, spending it all away on just one player may not be a reasonable way to invest.

Like most clubs, Solskjaer is broadening his list of candidates. There is one curious target from Swansea City in Joe Rodon. The 22-year-old is believed to be at the top of the United manager's wish list, someone who could be theirs for just $25 million. That would save the Red Devils a whole lot of money, not to mention open doors for more signings, The Independent reported.

Rodon is a sensible target. Since suiting up for the Swans in 2018, he has made 46 appearances. The Welsh national has two years remaining in his current deal with Swansea City but it appears Rodon is free to join any team who would be willing to pay his fee. People are backing the move. That includes the co-founder of Salford City, Ryan Giggs, who believes he would be a great addition to Old Trafford if Solskjaer can pull something off, The Athletic reported.

"It was the day after a game and we gave some players running drills, box to box. He was running with someone fast and went past them, effortlessly. I thought, ‘oh, I hadn’t seen that’" Giggs said.

Rodon is a no nonsense player. He is someone who will come out to play every night and his intense nature is what has impressed Giggs. For Solskjaer, he could add a dedicated player who will work hard for him each game. Also, it shows that he is open to improving with the right guidance. That could be another possibility under the watch of the United manager.

United is keeping its options open. But right now, it appears the Red Devils are planning to slow down a bit as far as player recruitment. After sealing the deal for Odion Ighalo, United is reportedly planning to save off any moves until the summer. For now, the Red Devils will see how the current crop will perform for the rest of the season. By the next transfer window, expect Man Utd to revisit these targets and figure out who could fill in the gaps the team needs to do better next season.
