Hello Games knows that it needs to do something to raise the number of players enjoying "No Man's Sky." Just recently, the ambitious space exploration game that originally came out in 2016 was announced to be part of the Xbox Game Pass for June. While that should help, that meant only adding Xbox game console owners who can only play co-op with players using the same platform. All that is now a thing of the past.

In an official blog post, Hello Games announced that cross-play functionality is now in effect. This means that players enjoying the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC can now explore "No Man's Sky" together. That is a big development, something that breaks down barriers with gamers enjoying the game via their console of preference. Also, it comes in the nick of time with the space exploration game set to arrive on Xbox Game Pass on June 11.

The new cross-platform feature for "No Man's Sky" also means that more players will be tempted to try the game. The said feature has been mentioned several times in the past. It was only now that Hello Games finally made it official, admitting that it took a tremendous amount of work to make it happen.

“We’ve moved to an entirely new networking architecture, with more flexibility for the future, allowing players to play together regardless of platform,” according to Hello Games in an official statement.

Aside from the new cross-platform feature for "No Man's Sky," the post also includes some enhancements made to those playing the game on virtual reality (VR). Gamers should enjoy better accuracy and less of the bugs that most may be experiencing right now.

"No Man's Sky" becomes the latest game to venture towards cross-platform technology. Electronic Arts (EA) did the same recently for "Need For Speed Heat." Bungie also did the same for "Destiny 2," providing players who may be holed up at home right now more ways of keeping themselves busy with video games and some social interaction as well.

Aside from its scheduled debut on the Xbox Games Pass, "No Man's Sky" will also make its way to the Microsoft Store. A windows 10 version of the space exploration game is set to come out, yet another way to further increase the number of players to check out the quintillion planets Hello Game developers have laid out.
