Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their firstborn Archie last year. While the arrival of their son brought immense joy to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the younger son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana couldn’t help but feel worried at the same time.
The world is definitely different from what it was before. A lot of things have happened all around the globe that led to a lot of concerns. With Prince Harry being a father now, he shared that he felt pressure to ensure Archie that he can give him the future that he deserves. The Duke of Sussex voiced his concerns in a heartfelt letter for the 2019 annual report of the African Parks. He is the president of the association.
"Since becoming a father, I feel the pressure is even greater to ensure we can give our children the future they deserve,” he wrote. “A future that hasn’t been taken from them, and a future full of possibility and opportunity.”
But Prince Harry remained realistic in his letter. He didn’t say that he wished things didn’t happen. Instead, the Duke of Sussex wanted to show the next generation that we did experience all these issues and that people helped hand in hand to solve the matter.
Prince Harry is currently reading in Los Angeles with Meghan Markle and Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the US after they officially stepped down as senior royals at the end of March.
One of the reasons why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to quit royal life is to be away from the spotlight as much as possible. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex clearly said that they would want to live a “peaceful life” outside the royal family, and their main goal is to protect their son Archie from the dangers of being a public figure.
But just because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle already officially stepped down as senior royals at the end of March, that does not mean that people are not interested in them anymore. In fact, their relocation to Los Angeles didn’t save them from being followed by the media.
An earlier report revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were fearful for Archie’s safety after their Los Angeles home was surrounded by drones. It is believed that the drones were operated by paparazzi. But paparazzi photographers were not the only suspects in the incident as it was also treated as a potential terrorist threat.
