Finally, the Sony PlayStation 5 is out, well at least most of the juicy details for the next-generation console and this early, a bruising war is expected against the upcoming machine's rival, that is the Microsoft Xbox Series X. The minimum expectation is both offerings will underscore gorgeousness, power, and the best hardcore gaming experience.

The device that Sony unveiled looked "daring," but early observations appeared to suggest the design is at best polarizing. Many will likely embrace the PS5 that is tall, slim and is mostly white with black trimming. For some, the conventional appearance of the older generations might be missed, but as the console maker made clear, the PS5 is all about moving forward.

There will be more than two dozen titles that should be ready once the gaming machine is made available in the last quarter of 2020. CNET said, Sony intends to provide further details about the new product in the months to come but around September, the formal launch is bound to happen.

By that time, more previews of the titles to entertain gamers will be released, but the early teasers so far have been described as "dazzling." Per the same report, the most notable at the moment has to be the "Spider-Man: Miles Morales," which will pick up on the narrative introduced via the 2019 hit "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse."

The PS5 will debut in two versions. The regular model is tipped to be more powerful and pricy while the disc-free flavor, called PS5 Digital Edition, is touted to be the more affordable option but not necessarily lacking in muscle. One thing is sure, the cheaper of the PS5 models will be without the optical disc, which should explain the more tempting price tag.

Sony has withheld for now the pricing information but The Verge said it should be safe to assume that gamers looking to score the PS5 Digital Edition can look forward to savings of around $50. That was the same discount seen when the Xbox One S All-Digital hit the market in 2019.

In any case, Sony's decision to start the marketing blitz on the PS4 sequel serves as an indication that it will be a bruising battle ahead in the console market. The report reckoned Microsoft and Sony would try to tempt consumers with machines that fit their entertainment requirements and their budget as well.

No thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is forecasted that things will not be easy for many in the next few years, and the game console makers know that as a fact. So to remain attractive in a new global setting where essential goods are of prime importance, both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X will need to be priced reasonably. The two will surely engage in a price war, as the report suggested.
