Prince William had been staying at his and Kate Middleton’s Norfolk home with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis during the coronavirus lockdown. Although the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge amped up their royal duties while Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles remain in isolation, they didn't have to leave their country mansion to complete them.
But on Tuesday, Prince William finally had his first official royal duty outside his family home at Anmer Hall in Norfolk. The Duke of Cambridge visited the King’s Lynn Ambulance to talk to the ambulance staff. While observing the social distancing protocol, the future king praised the staff and even shared with them his favorite hobby during the coronavirus lockdown.
"I've done a lot of baking at home,” he revealed. “Chocolate goes down very well."
It seems like Prince William had been enjoying some sweet treats a little too much during the lockdown as Kate Middleton previously revealed his little secret when they celebrated this year’s Easter Sunday. Even though the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are strictly following the rules of the emergency protocol, they still reach out to the public via video calls.
Back in April, Prince William and Kate Middleton chatted with pupils and teachers at Casterton Primary Academy in Burnley. During the hour-long Zoom call, the Duke of Cambridge shared that there was nothing to worry about as "There will be a lot of chocolate being eaten here." Kate then quickly replied that her husband kept eating the chocolates.
While completing their royal duties, Prince William and Kate Middleton are also doing their jobs as parents to their three young children. In fact, the couple is homeschooling their older kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children are currently staying at Anmer Hall in Norfolk during the lockdown. The family’s country mansion was a wedding present from Queen Elizabeth. They were told to enjoy their time at the place as they may not be able to do so in the future as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge take more royal duties.
A royal poll revealed that the public believes that Prince William should step up for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. The poll asked if Prince William should take over since Her Majesty's age placed her as high-risk to catch severe COVID-19, and 87 percent of the voters answered yes. Only 249 (12%) out of 2010 voters said “no,” and 21 voters (1%) said, “don’t know.”
