One of the missing pieces of the puzzle that the Warriors failed to solve this season is Klay Thompson. The shooting guard ruptured his ACL in the 2019 NBA Finals and was forced out of action in the campaign that followed, leading to the Dubs picking up more defeats than wins. For the next term though, things are looking up both for Thompson and Golden State.

The latest word on Thompson is that he is back in training and is doing workout minus the restrictions, meaning his injury has completely healed. Over the past weeks, the Warriors star has been ramping out on his regular exercises and that should indicate he ready for action and duke it when the GSW returns to the court.

Citing the information shared by Anthony Slater of The Athletics, NBC Sports reported that the other half of the Splash Brothers has been given the green light by doctors to do full training. That means Thompson is training like he was not injured and the only limitations he faces are the lockdown rules due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Thompson's knee was medically cleared a few weeks ago and he has been running, jumping, dunking, and doing everything he's permitted to do," the report said.

For a clear picture of the kind of training that the star is undergoing, he is working with a coach and they are doing the practice sessions in Los Angeles and Oakland. Thompson has yet to return in the Bay Area and that likely is the case with some members of the Warriors roster.

In addition, the training is limited for now with one supervisor as Thompson is still prohibited to get involve with scrimmages. In fact, the NBA has yet to allow scrimmages such as three-on-three or five-on-five so Thompson is just taking advantage of the modes of training that are made available to him.

However, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is looking forward that the NBA will soon permit the holding of training camps, which will be the signal for him to call on Thompson and the others to make their way back to the Bay Area.

According to CBS Sports, gathering his players in one place is regarded by Kerr with utmost importance as he noted that with the Warriors out of the Orlando bubble games that will start in July, his crew will be out of action for about nine months, and that is not good.

"We definitely need to get our team together for a period of time," Kerr was reported as saying.

He added that the call to training is mandatory and it's understandable as the Warriors have to prove they remain a part of the NBA top clubs. To do this, the minimum goal for Kerr is to reach the 2021 NBA Finals.
