Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said in their withdrawal announcement back in January that they wished to be “financially independent” after stepping down as senior royals. Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex receive funds from The Firm when they were working royals, many expected that they will not get anything after their royal exit.

Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer working royals, they will cover their own expenses including their security bills after moving to Los Angeles. US President Donald Trump also made it clear that the government will not pay for the couple’s security, so they have to do it themselves.

It was previously reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are asking Prince Charles to pay for their security bills. The Prince of Wales is, allegedly, paying for the Duke and Duchess’ round the clock security.

TalkRADIO's Mike Graham asked Charles Rae if the UK is still paying for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s security. The royal expert claimed that they still are because “at the moment Prince Charles is giving them £2million a year” to help them pay for their security.

Now, a new report revealed that Prince Charles may have a hard time funding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as his annual income from the Duchy of Cornwall is expected to fall "by a significant amount" next year due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Prince of Wales will be using his private funds to help the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with their new life in the US, but a source close to the future King said that the cash is not "inexhaustible.”

Meanwhile, there were whispers and speculations that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will try their luck in the entertainment scene. The Duchess of Sussex already did her Hollywood comeback when she narrated for a Disney documentary titled Elephant back in August of last year and was released in April 2020. Although early reviews revealed that the former actress did an “underwhelming” job, it was a taste of the couple’s possible future venture.

In fact, Prince Harry even showed interest in doing voiceovers as well. When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met Disney CEO Bob Iger at the London premiere of The Lion King, he shared that he’s open to doing that kind of job.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus outbreak ruined all of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s plans. Now that they are not receiving any funds from The Firm, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have to find ways to afford their lavish lifestyle.
