The rolling out Windows 10 2004 Version provided not only major feature upgrades but also a glimpse of the redesign that Microsoft has been planning for the flagship operating system. The OS jump delivered fresh-looking icons for some of the applications, and this likely will continue with the expected design tweaks on the Windows 10 Start Menu.

The latest preview from Microsoft established two things. One and the most important is that Live Tiles will gradually fade out from the view of most users, meaning that Windows 10 in the future versions will give greater emphasis to app icons as the ready access for users to launch applications.

According to MS Power User, the time will come that app icons will no longer be connected to the Live Tiles functions, which is Microsoft saying the feature will be going away at some point.

That will happen only in plain sight as the same report said Live Tiles will remain an option for advanced users and developers. It's safe to assume that when Live Tiles become totally hidden from the view of general users, those in the Windows Insider program can still enjoy the Windows 10 feature.

How the planned changes for the Windows 10 Start Menu will play out was previewed via the screenshot shared via the Office 365 channel, in which the new look was showcased mostly dominated by app icons and not the Live Tiles.

The UI will be in effect if users will deactivate the Live Tiles function, and the same report said it will be optimized for both the Light and Dark Theme of the operating system. It seemed that the chief intention for the change is to achieve a user experience that is geared more on the Windows 10X setting.

When the UI upgrade is made available, users can expect the Windows 10 aesthetics to jump a notch, but the focus of the reengineering is to make the Microsoft OS more simplified but still a good sight to admire.

WCCFTech said the new Start Menu will aim to get better in terms of gaining "more spacing, less color, and a decluttered feel."

The feature jump is not seen as quite huge for the ever-evolving Windows 10, but it can be said that going live is not happening this year. As the development of Windows 10 20H2 version is practically in the last stage, the revised Start Menu will likely debut with the release of the 2021 feature upgrade.

However, for users excited to get a feel of the upcoming Windows 10 Start Menu tweaks, Slash Gear said it could be done by heading to "Themes" and then follow the easy steps supplied in the article. When the changes are applied, users should see the general look of what Microsoft plans to deliver next year.
