Arsenal FC knows it needs more players to shore up its rotation and Mikel Arteta is broadening his search. Though there have been several names linked to the Gunners, it appears there is a new one in their wish list. The name of Tyrone Mings of Aston Villa has cropped up, someone who could blend in well with David Luiz who recently agreed to re-sign at Emirates Stadium.

The only problem with Mings is that Arsenal may lack the resources to get him from Aston Villa. Though he only signed with The Villa last summer, The Lions are unlikely to let him go cheap. The 27-year-old player signed for $25 million and is unlikely to accept anything lower than that, The Athletic reported. Right now, Arteta is trying to keep as many players as possible, aware that the Gunners are practically in the same vote as other teams trying to make do with their set budgets.

Mings has blossomed with The Lions, a reason why several teams are interested in taking him in. It will be interesting if Arsenal steps up its interest though taking care of business, for now, is their prerogative. Arsenal is dealing with manpower problems right now. Pablo Mari went down with an injury and is likely to sit out until November. Thankfully, some loan deals were resolved recently.

Dani Ceballos will be staying on until the end of the season at Emirates Stadium while Mari and Cedric Soares saw their loan moves made permanent. But looking ahead, Arteta is looking at further alternatives to bolster the club.

"I am really happy that we will have these players in our squad for the future. They have been part of the long-term technical plan Mikel and I have developed. They bring the right balance to our squad," Arsenal technical director Eduardo César Daud Gaspar said.

Moreover, there are still some players whose contracts are still up in the air. They are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Bukayo Saka. Though their contracts are good for another year, the Gunners would do best to settle them as early as now. So far, the contracts of Aubameyang and Saka seem to be progressing well. As far as Ozil, no positive development has been reported.

Arsenal is struggling right now, sitting at the ninth spot of the Premier League Table. They are 11 points down to fourth placer Chelsea FC, a tough uphill climb ahead for Arteta. Regardless, whatever they fail to attain this season should hold better chances next season.
