The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has been making headlines over the past weeks because of the announcements during its WWDC. Aside from the annual event, leaks and rumors about the upcoming iPhone 12 contribute to the wide range of information about the company. A new report surfaced recently revealing that Apple would reportedly launch a new 10.8-inch iPad this year and a new iPad Air next year.

Macrumors shared the latest information from the latest research note of the popular and reputable Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo. According to the TFI Securities Analyst, the new 10.8-inch iPad might arrive in the second half of 2021. It would be followed by the release of a new 8.5-inch iPad in the first half of 2021, the Taiwan-based analyst added.

The report claimed that while Kuo failed to reveal more details about the upcoming iPads, he earlier noted that the forthcoming 8.5-inch would be the new iPad Mini. It can be recalled that the Cupertino-based tech giant released the upgraded iPad Mini in Mar 2019. The current generation houses Apple's A12 Bionic chip, better camera configuration, and support for the original Apple pencil.

Aside from this, Kuo also said that the upcoming iPad models would pack with a 12W charger. Earlier, several industry insiders, including the TFI analyst, claimed that Apple would not ship the upcoming iPhone 12 series with a 20W charger. Kuo first made his prediction on the 10.8-inch and 8.5-inch iPad models in May 2020.

His latest research note further cemented his claims with more specific sizes of the upcoming iPad models. In June, several industry insiders report that the 10.8-inch iPad and the new iPad Mini are coming in the late part of 2020. A separate claim noted that the 10.8-inch iPad would be Apple's replacement for the iPad Air that features the USB-C connector instead of the traditional Lightning port.

With the plethora of claims about the upcoming iPad models, consumers are wondering if the devices would feature smaller bezels and would integrate Face ID? If the leaks are to go by, the next generation would have bigger sizes. If Apple sticks to the chassis of the current generation, there is a high likelihood that the upcoming models would feature slimmer bezels.

There is also a chance that the Cupertino tech giant would integrate LiDar to the upcoming iPad models. While these details about the 10.8-inch iPad and the 8.5-inch iPad Air are exciting, it is worth mentioning that these are not official yet. In this case, take the new set of information with a pinch of salt.
