Anything that Katie Holmes does or doesn't always catch the attention of the press. The latest of which is the actress' alleged renewed interest to join the medical field.

New Idea published a story this week with a headline, "Paging Dr. Holmes?" The tabloid alleged Holmes is finally making her childhood dream of becoming a doctor to a reality.

It cited a supposed friend of the actress as saying Tom Cruise's ex-wife applied to Columbia University to study medicine. It is true that after high school, Holmes got accepted into Columbia University.

Her father wanted her to become a doctor. However, Katie delayed college and left Toledo, Ohio after she landed her breakout role as Joey Potter on Dawson's Creek.

The supposed pal claimed Holmes battled with her father when she decided to delay med school and pursue acting instead. The insider added it was a huge gamble for Holmes but it did pay off.

Nonetheless, the Batman Begins actress, allegedly, hasn't completely abandoned her childhood dream and that is to help and heal people. Apparently, the current health crisis motivated Katie Holmes to finally pursue her dream to become a doctor.

As noble as it seems, Gossip Cop, however, said there is no truth to the claim. It reached out to Holmes' spokesperson, who confirmed that Katie is not going back to school as a medical student.

Gossip Cop added that it wasn't surprising that New Idea made false claims about Katie Holmes. About a year ago, the outlet also debunked New Idea's claim that the actress was pregnant with Jamie Foxx's baby

A source of the tabloid claimed Suri Cruise's mom told some close family members and friends about her pregnancy. It added that the pregnancy was also the reason why Holmes and Foxx decided to go public with their relationship.

In November 2019, New Idea also claimed the Ray Donovan actress was moving to Australia permanently. It came up with such a claim after Holmes visited the country to help raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House. It added that the actress got inspired to live Down Under after seeing how celebrity couple Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky raise their kids out of the spotlight in Byron Bay.

New Idea also published a story in September claiming Pataky planned on setting up Holmes and her brother-in-law, Liam Hemsworth when Katie came to Australia for her charity works. Gossip Cop debunked all of these stories.
