Prince William, the second in line to the British throne, is, reportedly, in no rush to become the King of England. The Duke of Cambridge is being groomed for the role but he's not in a hurry to take the throne and bypass his father, Prince Charles, who is the heir of Queen Elizabeth.

Nick Bullen had conversations about the passing of the crown with the royals in October 2019 for his documentary on True Royalty TV. He said that while Prince William is getting ready for his future role and preparing "his monarchy manifesto," he's going to sit on the throne after Prince Charles. This was apparently not up for discussion with the royal family.

Bullen said the Prince Charles will ascend to the throne when the Queen dies. It is what Queen Elizabeth wants thus Prince William respects Her Majesty's wishes.

Funnily enough, Prince Charles apparently told Bullen that to get the top job in the monarchy, the heir and those in the line have to wait for the reigning monarch to die. For someone with selfish ambitions to rule as king or queen, it's like wishing their parent's death.

But Prince William doesn't want this father to die so he could be king. He is willing to wait and follow the process, Bullen said. For now, Prince William is getting guidance from his grandmother and father. He has been understanding the true meaning of duty and putting the crown first.

It comes amid talks of a bypass, with Queen Elizabeth passing her crown to Prince William, according to broadcaster Sherri Hewson. The journalist doesn't want the Queen needs to step down though since she is an adored monarch and should rule for as long as she can.

Besides, though Queen Elizabeth is the ruler, she doesn't have the power to pass the crown to whomever she chooses. There is a decree in the 1701 Act of Settlement that the monarch's successor must be her direct heir, who is Prince Charles. The decree also instituted that the monarch can never change this rule.

In the last months since the pandemic shut down the world, rumors that Queen Elizabeth would abdicate her crown surfaced because she has been isolating in Windsor. It is understood that Queen Elizabeth will remain in isolation from her royal engagements until there is an effective vaccine for the coronavirus. So, Prince Charles and Prince William will have to step up to their duties on behalf of the Queen.
