It took Liverpool 30 years to conquer the Premier League, and the team will surely shoot for a repeat next season. The task ahead will not be easy, but club legend Jamie Carragher offered some ideas for a successful defense of the crown, and Jurgen Klopp might want to listen up.

Carragher said his old club's chief purpose for the next season is to win title No. 2, but he warned that the campaign to come is entirely different. Changes in club rosters will lead to a league that is not identical to Liverpool's changes, so it's imperative for Klopp to make adjustments.

The Liverpool hero said the Reds would need to beef up on the defense and attack lines, which he viewed as critical to the team continuing the juggernaut run seen in the season.

"I am confident Liverpool can do again what they have done this season," Metro reported Carragher as saying.

The former Reds defender said Klopp has to complement his front three - headlined by Mohamed Saleh, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino - with fresh attacking talent. And the hiring for the transfer window should not stop there as Liverpool can use an additional left-back.

Carragher is convinced that Klopp's goals for the next season will be more attainable if these recommended signings were to be considered. He reminded that football is fluid, and changes can happen too quickly, so the Reds will need to be several steps ahead.

It's unclear at the moment how Klopp will want things to play out for Liverpool, but he indicated that he would remain in charge of the club through the end of his existing contract. The recent deal signed by the German boss with Anfield will expire in 2024, and the Daily Star said the 53-year-old has no intention of extending any further then the time is up.

When Klopp was asked how long will be managing the English side, he replied: "Four years in Liverpool."

He hinted that after Liverpool, his sight is set on taking a break as he pointed out that the situation will be vastly different five years from now. One thing is sure, though; the German said that from Liverpool, he will return to his homeland and take a long break from football.

Klopp's vacation post-Liverpool, however, is expected to be a short one. There were suggestions that the manager will eventually return to Bundesliga and take the top job at Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are seen as a perfect fit for Klopp as they are perennial title winners and with a culture that mirrors his managing style.
