Prince Charles has not been very vocal regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal exit. But, based on Queen Elizabeth’s statement after the couple's withdrawal, it appeared that the Prince of Wales accepted their decision.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said in their announcement that they wish to have a more peaceful life and be “financially independent” as they focus on their family and charities. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are, currently, living in Los Angeles with their son Archie after officially stepping down from their senior royal roles at the end of March.
Now, a new report revealed that Prince Charles gave Prince Harry some wise words before his royal exit with Meghan Markle. Royal Biographer Tom Bower claimed that the future King assured his son that he will always have a place in the Royal Family, but warned him that the case would not be the same for the former actress.
"According to the authors, Charles had made it clear to Harry that he was very much part of the future for the Royal Family, despite calls for a 'slimmed-down monarchy' with fewer senior working Royals. For Meghan, however, I fear there is no return,” he said.
Tom Bower, then, added that he is not convinced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave the U.K. is for them to be free. He noted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex needed to work to afford their lavish lifestyle, but they have not found success in America yet as they hoped.
Before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their withdrawal, the former actress gave everyone a taste of their possible future job by lending her voice to a Disney documentary titled Elephant back in August last year. A video, also, showed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with Bob Iger at the London premiere of The Lion King, where the pair hinted their interest in working with the Disney CEO.
Unfortunately for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, their L.A. plans came to a screeching halt due to the coronavirus outbreak. The global health crisis led to an implemented lockdown, which left the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with no choice but to stay home instead of pursuing their goals in the US.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, also, announced the name of their new foundation Archewell in April. However, the launch is put on hold due to the pandemic.
