A new set of images reportedly that of Apple's proprietary A14 RAM component surfaced online. These images are allegedly for the Cupertino tech giant's upcoming flagship, the iPhone 12 series. Despite the challenges hurled by the current global health crisis, the industry is optimistic that Apple would launch the iPhone 12 line up in September.

New iPhone 12 A14 RAM Component Images

Until now, Apple is mum about the iPhone 12 series' existence, more so, the A14 Bionic chipset that would reportedly power it. Thanks to Twitter user Mr-white, the industry now has an idea of the RAM component of Apple's upcoming flagship smartphone. The tipster shared on the social microblogging site several images of the said component.

According to Macrumors, the chip seems to feature a 2016 manufacturing number. While to others it could mean that it was developed four years ago, Wccftech said that it was produced in the 16th week of 2020, which falls in April. Based on the leaked images, it looks like the manufacturer TSMC prepared several 5nm manufacturing nodes for different clients.

Since Apple has a different specification requirement, it seems that the chip manufacturer prepared a different but enhanced version of the 5nm node for the A14 Bionic chipset. The tech site revealed that apart from the enhanced microarchitecture for Apple's chip, TSMC also has the standard 5nm and the 5nm+ nodes.

Other A14 Bionic Chip Details

It was reported a few weeks ago that TSMC would supply 80 million A14 chips to Apple for this year alone. However, it is not confirmed if those chips would be solely used for the iPhone 12 series or other Apple products. At this point, there is no solid evaluation revealing the performance of the A14 shown in the leaked images.

Interestingly, earlier leaked benchmark results revealed that Apple's A14 Bionic chip could be faster than the 2018 iPad Pro. The performance of the chip in both single-core and multi-core tests is more than impressive. Unfortunately, it is not possible to tell the RAM specs of the iPhone 12 series based only on the leaked images.

However, previous rumors noted that some models of the upcoming flagship iPhone might feature 6 GB of RAM. The iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max would reportedly feature the higher RAM specs while the standard 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 would allegedly house 4 GB of RAM. It is worth noting that these alleged A14 images are unconfirmed and unofficial.
