Queen Elizabeth reportedly wants Prince William and Harry to fix their strained relationship and patch things up "like grown adults." Multiple sources revealed that the monarch told her grandsons their feud must end once and for all.
According to Us Weekly, Queen Elizabeth hopes that Prince William and Harry would talk beyond their Zoom calls. The royal brothers have been on speaking terms after Prince Charles' coronavirus diagnosis in late March but, apparently, there is still a lot more work to do before the two can set aside their differences.
Queen Elizabeth thought that Prince William and Harry could talk and hash things out during Princess Beatrice's wedding in May. However, that royal event was canceled due to the coronavirus and Princess Beatrice chose to marry Edo Mapelli Mozzi in a scaled-down ceremony with less than 30 guests at Windsor Castle on July 17.
The source went on to say that Queen Elizabeth is hoping Prince Harry will fly to Balmoral this summer, when Prince William and his family will also visit the Highlands. The monarch expects the brothers to chat in person instead of talking while Prince Harry is on the other side of the pond in Los Angeles.
But royal observers think that old wounds will reopen as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's biography, Finding Freedom, is up for release. Parts of the book were published two weeks before the release date as a teaser to the shocking details of the Sussex pair's royal exit.
Sources said that Prince William isn't happy with what has been teased so far. The Duke of Cambridge allegedly thinks that the excerpts released were a way for Prince Harry and Meghan to "control the narrative" to favor their entertainment contracts.
Since stepping back from their royal roles, Prince Harry and Meghan have been trying to land lucrative deals in Hollywood in Los Angeles. Another source claimed that the book release makes Prince Harry appear like he still harbors resentment over his royal exit and he's struggling to start a new life in the U.S.
A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan said that the Sussexes have nothing to do with the book's release. Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand independently conducted their research and interviews for Finding Freedom but never got to talk to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally.
Royal courtiers note that it's Queen Elizabeth who will most likely be hurt the most by the book release. The royal family managed to settle with Prince Harry before he left London in March but Finding Freedom's revelations have put them under fire again.
