According to him, he heard that both Microsoft and Sony are announcing these details in August. Khan's claim aligns with other rumors currently circulating online about the possible announcement.
Unfortunately, Khan did not reveal much details about the rumored announcement. However, he hinted that both Xbox Series X and PS5 would get more software showcase this month. He added that both gaming giants have a lot of big things to announce in August.
Khan noted that "I wouldn't be shocked if they showed them soon," referring to Sony and Microsoft. He added that he is "surprised" that they are holding on to these massive announcements from the industry. Xbox Boss Phil Spencer seemingly confirms Khan's claim in his earlier statement. Spencer said that more questions about the Xbox Series would be answered in August, suggesting an event.
PS5, Xbox Series X Announcement Details
Khan's claim also aligns with the recent claim shared on Twitter account of venture Beat's Jeff grubb. According to him, Sony's next State of Play might happen between August 5 and August 11. Grubb said the dates are tentative and could change. Grubb also hinted that the PS5 State of Play event might take place before the Xbox Series X event. He suggested that Microsoft's event for its next-gen console could happen between August 11 and August 22.
Sony and Microsoft have not yet confirmed these rumors. Both companies maintain the earlier announced holiday 2020 release window for their upcoming gaming consoles.
