Fresh renders for the next flagship smartphone from Huawei are now available online. The images reveal surprising upgrade on the camera setup of the Huawei Mate 40 and Huawei Mate 40 Pro. It appears that the Chinese giant designed the upcoming handsets to be more camera-focused than its predecessors.

Leaked Huawei Mate 40 And Mate 40 Pro Renders

The new set of Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro renders was recently shared by the famed insider OnLeaks. The site worked with HandsetExpert for the render of the Huawei mate 40 and with PriceBaba for the render of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. The new renders offer a surprising design detail of the upcoming flagship smartphone series from Huawei.

Huawei Mate 40 Camera Bump

While it is usual for smartphone makers to offer camera upgrades to new smartphones, it looks like Huawei intends to go beyond the usual. If the latest renders are to go by, it looks like the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 would feature a massive camera change. Although the circular design is the same as that found on the Mate 30 Pro, the upcoming models seemingly received huge improvements on the camera hardware side.

The Huawei Mate 40 would feature a triple rear camera setup while the higher-tier Huawei Mate 40 Pro would ship with four rear camera configuration. It looks like the additional camera sensor of the higher-end model is the depth sensor, which could further enhance portrait mode selfies.

Huawei Mate 40 Display

The renders for Huawei Mate 40 and Huawei Mate 40 Pro also show several display details. The standard Mate 40 model features a curved display, especially on the sides similar to its predecessor. Interestingly, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro seems to have dropped the virtual control for volume rockers and instead sports the usual physical volume rocker.

Both the Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro no longer have notches, but a dual hole-punch camera cut out seemingly the same as the one featured in the Huawei P40 line up. Inside the hole-punch cut out is the dual-camera setup, which apparently replaced the 3D face unlock system found on the Huawei Mate 30.

Other Huawei Mate 40 Details

As for the Huawei mate 40 and Huawei Mate 40 Pro release date, nothing is certain yet. Usually, the Chinese company launches new products, like the Mate 30, in September right after the IFA. However, it is hard to assume that Huawei would do the same to its upcoming flagship line up this year considering the global health crisis's effects.
