Prince Harry had always supported the causes of equality. But, after seeing his wife’s struggles with racism, the issue became even bigger to him.

During an interview with U.S. civil rights campaigner Rashad Robinson, Prince Harry spoke about racism. The Duke of Sussex said that racism was not just “down to the black community” to deal with.

Omid Scobie, one of the authors of Finding Freedom, told National Public Radio that Prince Harry’s “journey to wokeness” was complete after seeing Meghan Markle’s struggles with racism.

“We’ve seen him learning and educating himself along the way, but this experience of witnessing Meghan face racist remarks and commentary would have been the first time he’d seen someone in his life or someone he was particularly close to affected by it in a certain way,” he said.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle, previously, shared her “absolute devastation” about the death of George Floyd on May 25 due to racial divisions. In a video message, the Duchess of Sussex shared what she felt with the whole thing. Although Prince Harry’s wife was worried if she'll say the right words, she was determined to speak out.

George Floyd was just one of many black people who died and suffered in the hands of police. Many are convinced that the whole scenario had something to do with racism. Protesters, celebrities, influencers, and more then started the Black Lives Matter movement. Unfortunately, the campaign became chaotic as the protest descends into looting and destructive mayhem.

Back in 2012, years before she became a part of the Royal Family, Meghan Markle joined USA Network's Characters Unite: ‘I Won't Stand For.’ The Duchess of Sussex was an actress at the time, and she used her platform to share what she had been through as a biracial woman.

Meghan Markle's father is Caucasian and her mother is African-American. The Duchess of Sussex had shared her personal experience of racism because of the color of her skin.

Meghan Markle went on to say that, because of her race, she became a subject of name-calling and offensive jokes. She, also, shared that her mother, Doria Ragland, was called a racial slur. The former Suit star said that she is “personally affected by racism” and is hoping for “things to be better” in the world. Fast forward to 2020, things are still the same. Racism is still highly active, and people are still fighting against it.
