People are understandably excited about The Mandalorian Season 2. After all, the second season of the Star Wars series is expected to bring back Din Djarin and Baby Yoda for exciting new adventures as they try to find the Child's people.

In addition to that, Disney and Lucasfilm confirmed that the show will not be delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak as most of the post-production work is being done remotely.

Although the first teaser for the Disney+ show's second season has not yet been released, the premiere date may have already been leaked and it's a lot sooner than expected.

There is little doubt that Disney and Lucasfilm were well aware that the first season of The Mandalorian was going to be a huge hit. The studios immediately confirmed the series for a second season which would then begin production while Season 1 was still being aired on Disney+.

Interestingly, this may have been the best decision since it ensured that most of The Mandalorian Season 2 would already be filmed before the COVID-19 shutdowns in early 2020. This meant that post-production would have to be done remotely but creator Jon Favreau assured fans that the show would not be delayed and would still be released in October.

So, when exactly is The Mandalorian Season 2 release date? The show's premiere date may have been revealed in a Star Wars leaker on Twitter. In the tweet, @ScoutTheTrooper shared a Din Djarin concept art along with some exciting news. "Brace yourselves. The second season of @themandalorian is arriving October 7th, 2020, only on #DisneyPlus," they wrote.

This is exciting news considering that fans were not expecting to see The Mandalorian Season 2 until the latter part of October. However, it is important to point out that the release date was not confirmed by Disney and Lucasfilm just yet. With that in mind, it is best to take the information with a grain of salt.

The Mandalorian Season 2 will continue the story of Din Djarin as he takes Baby Yoda under his care while searching for The Child's people in an effort to return him to his clan.

Their journey is set to be a dangerous one as the villainous Moff Gideon has been confirmed to survive in the previous season finale and will undoubtedly continue to take Baby Yoda for himself. The second season has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
