J-Hope got his stage name from his initials — “J” from his last name Jung, and “Ho” from his real name Hoseok. The “pe” was added when he, RM, and Bang Si Hyuk were making names before their debut. When Pandora’s box was mentioned, the last thing in the box was hope, and it was a light bulb moment for them.

The “Outro: Ego” rapper said that it was the right choice because the name made him who he is. Now, he’s a perfect definition of hope.

When J-Hope introduces himself during appearances, he would say, “I’m your hope, you’re my hope, I’m J-Hope.” While it sounded like a cute catchphrase, it’s definitely more than just a series of words for the BTS star.

J-Hope is known for giving back to the community. Knowing how tough the situation is right now for most people due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 26-year-old rapper, songwriter, and record producer donated KRW 100,000,000 (USD 84,407.00) to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation to help out disadvantaged children, including those from low-income families.

“Amongst the disadvantaged children that are victims of the various societal problems, I hope that these funds will be well-delivered to those that are facing financial difficulties due to the coronavirus,” J-Hope explained to the foundation.

This is certainly not the first J-Hope donated to the charity. In fact, the BTS rapper became a part of its Green Noble Club since 2018 because of his constant donations. The club, which only has 146 members, is exclusive for high-level donors.

But, J-Hope doesn’t limit his support with donating money. Last month, the “Chicken Noodle Soup” hitmaker showed his support for The Black Lives Matter Movement by posting a black Kaws figure on Twitter.

ARMYs went into digging to know more about the item. That’s when they realized that it is a “TAKE” Companion Figures in support of the Black Lives Matter campaign. It is unknown if J-Hope purchased the Kaws figure himself, or it was gifted to him by the artist.

BTS has always been supporters of equality. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have consistently reminded their fans to love themselves because being who they are is already enough. With racism being one of the biggest issues in the world, BTS made sure to support any campaigns against it.

J-Hope, also, previously wore a shirt with a pink Kaws design, which was made for Breast Cancer Awareness.
