Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, according to reports, purchased an £11.2million home in Los Angeles up the Pacific coast recently. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the U.S. after they officially stepped down from their senior royal role at the end of March.

Now, a report reveals the possible reason why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose the specific location to start their new lives outside the Royal Family. According to a source, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “craving a smaller community.”

“They were craving a smaller community and a slower pace — Montecito is very mellow, a charming little town and the Santa Barbara area offers an ideal lifestyle that they’re looking forward to. They feel like the future holds endless possibilities. They can hope to give Archie as normal a life as possible there,” the insider shared.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have changed their priorities after the birth of their firstborn Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a love-hate relationship with the media for quite a long time. However, they decided to completely avoid the spotlight to protect their son by announcing back in January that they are quitting royal life.

But, just because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer working royals, that does not mean that they are not part of the Royal Family anymore. In fact, a previous report revealed that Archie will still be a prince whether the couple likes it or not.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wished to raise Archie as a private citizen. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex registered their son as Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor even though the little boy was entitled to take his father’s subsidiary title Earl of Dumbarton.

According to royal experts, Archie is still destined to be a duke and a prince despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal exit. The one-year-old will inherit the Duke of Sussex title after his father’s death even though his parents wish to distance him from the royal bubble. He will, also, be a prince when Queen Elizabeth dies.

As for Prince Harry, he remains the sixth in the line of succession to the British throne despite his withdrawal. The heir apparent is his father, Prince Charles, the second in line is his older brother, Prince William, the third, fourth, and fifth are his nephews and niece, namely: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
