While the industry is excitedly waiting for the official launch of the GeForce RTX 3000 series, Nvidia silently launches the GeForce MX450. ComputerBase first spotted the company's German division publishing the product page earlier today. Interestingly, the entry-level mobile graphics card comes with support for PCIe 4.0.

According to the marketing arm of Nvidia, the new MX450 offers improved performance than the current-generation MX3000 series for various workloads. This includes video and photo editing, as well as gaming scenarios. Nvidia does not say how much performance the MX450 features.

The Nvidia MX450 offers support not only to PCI Express 4.0 but also to GDDR6 graphics memory. Additionally, it supports the latest APIs and Nvidia technologies. This includes the NVIDIA Optimus for GPU Boost that enhances clock speeds and more efficient GPU usage on laptops.

While Nvidia shared the specifications sheet of the MX450, it left out some crucial details. It did not reveal the boost, base clock speeds, or the number of CUDA cores included. At this point, we do not know which architecture the Nvidia MX450 is founded.

On the product's official page, there is no mention of Ampere, Turing, or Pascal. It also does not say other details of the graphics card outside the memory interface and other supported technologies. According to the chipmaker, the Nvidia GeForce MX450 would also be available from laptop OEM partners beginning October 2020.

The industry is also anticipating the launch of far high-end GeForce GPU series debuting in the same window. The Nvidia GeForce MX450 is the latest low-power GPU developed for light and thin laptops. It was originally offered to counter the graphics performance of Intel and provide people with a better way to accelerate filters in Photoshop.

Tom's Hardware claims that the Nvidia GeForce MX450 is intended for budget machines. It notes that it does not make sense if the chipmaker would equip it with PCIe 4.0 support, considering that the graphics card would not need that much bandwidth. These days, laptop makers love to combine Intel processors with Nvidia GeForce MX graphics cards series.

It is possible that consumers would see a GeForce MX450 alongside the Intel Tiger Lake processor in the future. Meanwhile, a series of leaks recently surfaced online, showing the actual photo of the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Founders Edition. The rumored upcoming graphics card is compared side by side with the RTX 2080Ti. The RTX 3000 series is anticipated to launch in September.
