The official release date of The Blacklist season 8 has been announced. Recently, it was confirmed that the series will be releasing its new episodes starting on Friday, Nov. 13, on NBC. This is good news for everyone, given that production hasn't kicked off yet.

The Blacklist season 8 will be filming the originally planned episodes for season 7 first before moving forward with the next chapter of the story. Cast and crew could begin working in the coming weeks. Following the release date announcement, series star Megan Boone reacted to the news.

In a recent Instagram post, Boone, who plays Liz Keen, teased what to look forward to in the series. There have been questions on how they will make the upcoming installment and the actress made it clear the new episodes will be live-action – not animated.

The series has incorporated animation through most of the previous season. But, in The Blacklist season 8, we're going to see all the characters returning in the live-action. Also, Boone noted there are proper health and safety protocols implemented to ensure the safety of everyone on the set.

The team behind the scenes has been working hard to make sure that everything is safe when production resumes. Nothing is certain as to when it could start, but some suggest it could begin in the fall. Just recently, Harry Lennix, who plays Harold Cooper, said they're eyeing a September production date.

As for what else we can expect in The Blacklist season 8, executive producers Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath previously discussed what's coming in the series. During the Comic-Con @ Home, the two talked about the remaining episodes in the previous season.

Bokenkamp said the twist in season 7 finale could go even more haywire. The story will revolve around Liz's betrayal on Reddington (James Spader), as she chose Katarina (Laila Robins) over him. Bokenkamp made it clear that everything would be clear where Liz is heading once the upcoming installment arrives.

Meanwhile, Eisendrath teased that the new season kicks off in a much more heightened and dramatic place than usual. All of the big moments originally meant for season 7 finale will be added in the upcoming installment, making it entirely different from the previous ones.

Both Bokenkamp and Eisendrath confirmed that the materials in the remaining episodes weren't changed. After addressing these episodes, The Blacklist season 8 will tackle more stories – especially Reddington's current health condition.
