Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially stepped down from their senior royal roles at the end of March. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex explained that they wish to focus on their family and charities, and live a more “peaceful life” while being “financially independent.”

So, when news broke that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry struck a mega-deal with Netflix, they quickly received a lot of criticism. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will produce films, documentaries, and children’s shows for the streaming giant and a lot of people believe that this decision is a complete opposite of what they said they were aiming for: privacy.

“Harry & Meghan: Please respect our new private life. Also Harry & Meghan: Watch us on Netflix,” conservative activist Chris Rose tweeted. YouTuber Mahyar Tousi pointed out that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the Royal Family because they demanded a quiet life. But, the couple is now "getting ready for shows, movies, red carpets, and celebrity parties."

Since Meghan Markle was an actress before tying the knot with Prince Harry, it wasn’t a hard bet to picture her and her husband to go to that direction after their royal exit. However, a royal expert previously warned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that their Hollywood life will not be as safe as when they were still living in the U.K.

One of the reasons why they decided to quit royal life is to be away from the spotlight as much as possible. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex clearly said that they would want to live a “peaceful life” outside the royal family, and their main goal is to protect their son Archie from the dangers of being a public figure.

But just because Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have already stepped down from their roles, that does not mean that people are not interested in them anymore. In fact, their relocation to Los Angeles didn’t save them from being followed by the media.

A previous report even revealed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were fearful of Archie’s safety after their Los Angeles home was surrounded by drones. At least five drone-related incidents occurred in recent weeks, and some were flying as low as 20 feet over their home.

Now that they are officially joining the Hollywood scene by signing up a deal with Netflix, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will garner more attention than before.
