Meghan Markle and Prince Harry signed a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix last week. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared in their withdrawal announcement that they wish to be “financially independent” and this new contract is a huge move for them to reach that goal.

While there is no confirmation as to how much Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will receive from the deal, they are understood to earn up to £75million over five years. Now, the CEO of Netflix revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shopped around for the best media deal.

“They’re smart. They were shopping around across all the major companies, and I think we really put together the best complete package. We are going to do a wide range of entertainment with them,” Reed Hastings shared.

The Netflix CEO didn’t elaborate further, but noted that the collaboration “will be some of the most exciting, the most viewed content next year.” When asked about Meghan Markle returning to acting, Reed Hastings pointed out that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are focused on producing.

Part of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision of stepping down as senior royals is for them to be “financially independent.” Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer working royals, they have all the time in the world to look for ways to earn for themselves.

Royal experts believe that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could easily net a £1 Billion if they strike the right balance between corporate deals and brand ambassador roles. This would be the perfect option for them as they seek to secure their financial independence.

Billionaire business leaders are more than willing to invite Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to be guest speakers at next year's World Economic Forum in Davos. The event, which will be attended by some of the world’s most influential people, would be an ideal platform for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to promote their brand.

After their withdrawal, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were quickly speculated to be joining the Hollywood scene. The Duchess of Sussex was an actress before meeting and marrying the prince, so going back to Tinseltown doesn’t seem far-fetched, especially now that they are living in the U.S.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just moved into their multimillion-dollar home in Montecito, California with their son, Archie.
