Prince Charles is the heir apparent to the British throne. At the age of 71 years old, his mother, Queen Elizabeth, is still the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom and 15 other Commonwealth realms.

Now, a report revealed that Prince Charles is getting “impatient.” The Prince of Wales is reportedly feeling that he’s “running out of time” to be King.

“Impatient? Me? What a thing to suggest! Yes of course I am. I’ll run out of time soon. I shall have snuffed it if I’m not careful,” Prince Charles jokingly said in 2012, while being recorded for a film released on the Clarence House website.

Even though Prince Charles was just kidding at the time, royal commentators have consistently said that being the longest-waiting heir to the throne in British history frustrates him. The Prince of Wales seemingly implied his impatience when he attended the funeral of Princess Diana’s father in 1992.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Prince Charles told his then brother-in-law Charles Spencer that, “You are fortunate enough to have succeeded to the title when still young.”

Even though royal experts believe that Queen Elizabeth would never abdicate, a previous report claimed that she may be passing most of her duties to Prince Charles next year. This decision led to speculations that Her Majesty’s reign may be coming to an end. Royal expert Andrew Morton noted that the coronavirus crisis has “practically put Charles on the throne.”

Earlier reports revealed that Queen Elizabeth already segregated some of her duties to the younger royals even before the coronavirus outbreak. As of the moment, Prince William and Kate Middleton have ramped up their royal duties during the pandemic.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have a lot of pressure on their shoulders right now, but their efforts didn’t go unnoticed at all. In fact, royal fans have continuously praised the couple for their hard work.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are being hailed by royal fans for their “tireless” efforts and “commitment” to the U.K. during the coronavirus outbreak. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, on the other hand, were criticized by Britons for leaving the U.K. during the time they are needed the most. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently living in the U.S. after they officially stepped down from their senior royal roles at the end of March.
