Samsung will host an event on September 23 where the company might officially launch its new Galaxy S20 FE.
Samsung launched a series of new products in August, but it seems the company has still more to offer as another Galaxy Unpacked event is set once again, this time on September 23. Industry observers say they expect the company to officially unveil the new Galaxy S20 FE.
The teaser on the invite that Samsung sent seem to hold the clue on what is going to happen on the scheduled event. Written in large text with what appears to be the back of two smartphones replacing the two A's is the word "Galaxy." Below it is the caption "Unpacked for Every Fan," a subtle reference to its whispered name, the Galaxy S20 FE, which is an abbreviation for "Fan Edition."
Samsung said they will stream the event live on various online platforms, which will happen on September 23, at 10 a.m. ET or 7 a.m. PT. The company did not provide any further details about the scheduled event. It also refused to confirm, nor deny, the rumors surrounding the event, which many say is the unveiling of the Galaxy S20 FE.
Some observers expressed their conviction that the event is for the formal launching of the Galaxy S20 FE. Most of them already know much about the upcoming new Samsung smartphone. Recent leaks, which include a horde of information from WinFuture, indicate that the Galaxy S20 FE is a significantly more affordable edition of the Galaxy S20+ which Samsung unveiled early this year.
Other leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, which go as far back as three months, reveal some details about its design, features, and possible price range. According to the leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE will be available in six colors. Two of the colors are those displayed on the official teaser image of Samsung's September 23 invite. Whispered talks also indicate that the new Samsung smartphone's chipset, which will depend on the region it is sold, will have either the Snapdragon 865 for the 5G variant or the Exynos 990 for the 4G variant.
Details about its display and other features have emerged, revealing that the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display capable of Full HD+ resolution. The display has a 120Hz refresh rate and protected by the sturdy Gorilla Glass 3 cover.
Rumors also say that the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE comes with a triple-camera configuration consisting of two 12MP and one 8MP camera on its rear. It is also said to have a 32MP selfie camera, 4,500mAh battery, and runs on Android 10.
Past leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE reveal that the company reduced its display to 1080p and lowered its RAM to only 6GB, and also lessened its other specs like its camera sensors to bring its price down. Despite all the reductions, observers say it is still a good smartphone, one that consumers will definitely appreciate, particularly due to its affordable price.
