It may have been a while since fans got any updates on GOT7 but it looks like Youngjae and Yugyeom both have some great news for their little birds. It has just been confirmed that Choi Youngjae has been cast in an upcoming Netflix series. The revelation comes shortly after Kim Yugyeom confirmed that he and his fellow idols are currently hard at work on their next comeback.
It's no secret that Youngjae is one of the most hardworking idols in the industry today. In addition to being one of the hosts of Idol Radio, Choi Youngjae had launched a clothing line with Ars that also puts his adorable dog Coco in the spotlight. However, Ahgases are also well aware of the GOT7 member's dream of being an actor. Amazingly, it looks like Youngjae finally got his wish of being a star in a cool new webseries.
The new Netflix teen sitcom I Wish the World Would End Tomorrow has just announced its cast which will include Park Se Wan, Shin Hyun Seung, and Han Hyun Min. They will be joined by GOT7's Youngjae as well as (G)I-DLE's Minnie. In the show, Choi Youngjae will portray a boy named Sam who is the son of the president of a global food chain based in Australia. Needless to say, the news had Ahgases excited for the series.
Not surprisingly, Youngjae is excited about his new career move. The GOT7 vocalist admitted that doing a show for the streaming service is a great honor for him.
"I watch a lot of movies through Netflix. I feel so happy and honored that I can show my acting in such a renowned platform," Youngjae said in an interview. "I will try my best to show you my charms. I ask for much love and support from all the viewers across the world."
Although Youngjae is set to become an actor, that doesn't mean he has forgotten about his job as a member of GOT7. Fellow idol Yugyeom has just confirmed in a recent VLive broadcast that he and the other members of the group are "really preparing hard" for their comeback. Sadly, Kim Yugyeom did not share more details but it was enough to get their fans excited.
I Wish The World Would End Tomorrow has not yet been given an official release date. Likewise, JYP Entertainment has yet to announce GOT7's comeback date. Stay tuned for more updates on these stories.
