Google Store offers up to $365 worth of trade-in values for Pixel 4 owners to shift to the new Pixel 5.
The new Google Pixel 5 is out and is now considered as the company's most affordable flagship. Available for order at the Google store for $699, it is a substantial leap down from the Pixel 4 series' $799 price tag. To further attract customers to the new phones, Google Store announced it is offering up to $365 worth of trade-in values for Pixel 4 owners when they exchange their phones for the newer Google Pixel 5.
According to Google Store, trade-in at checkout for the Google Pixel 5 avails you of a $195 discount if you are exchanging your Pixel 4, or as much as $365 if you are swapping your maxed-out Pixel 4 XL for the new phone. You can get huge discounts if there is no damage to your old phone.
Google Store also stated that a 64GB Pixel 4 in good condition may avail you of a $290 discount off the price of Google Pixel 5 if you swap the older handset with the new one. The discount price is around 36% of the original cost of the Pixel 4 which is around $799. The same percentage applies to a 128GB Pixel 4 XL, which originally costs $999 and has a trade-in value of $365.
The trade-in value offered by the Google Store is higher than last year where owners of Google Pixel 3 can only avail of a maximum price of $295 for a Pixel 3 XL. Since Google Pixel 5 is cheaper, the $365 trade-in value can be very attractive to some users. However, if you prefer cash over a discount for the new Google Pixel 5, you can also trade-in directly through the Google Store.
If you are a Pixel 4 owner and you wanted to avail of the discount from a low of $195 to a high of $365 for a Google Pixel 5, there are important things you would want to know. Google Store said that their trade-in estimate is valid for 30 days from the day the new phone, whether it is a Google Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G, or Pixel 4a, is delivered.
You can send your old device to Google Store for trade-in at any time. However, if it arrives 30 days after the new device is delivered to you, it will be assessed at current market value instead of the quoted estimate. Before you send in your Pixel 4 to trade-in for the Google Pixel 5, make sure you inspect the old phone to ensure it is in good condition so you can get the full value of $195 for the standard Pixel 4, $290 for a 64GB Pixel 4, and $365 for a 128GB Pixel 4 XL. Google Store said the trade-in terms determine the phone's current market value.
