Jisoo had an appearance in the 2015 Korean drama The Producers before she had even made her debut as a member of BLACKPINK. Last year, a majority of the BLACKPINK members named Jisoo the member most likely to win an Oscar during their Billboard magazine cover shoot.

Now, Jisoo has been cast as the female lead in upcoming JTBC drama Snowdrop (Seol Kang Hwa) opposite actor Jung Hae In, who is known for his many hit dramas such as Something In the Rain and One Spring Night. Even though the drama will air next year, netizens, especially BLINKs, are already very excited about it.

However, some are worried if Jisoo would do well. K-drama viewers know that the cast is very important to make the series successful. If the actors and actresses, especially the main cast, are lacking in acting and couldn’t do their characters justice, then the series will become a flop.

"I'm excited but also worried since this would be Jisoo's first acting. She might not do as well. Hopefully, she practiced a lot,” one commented. "I'm really curious about Jisoo's acting. She might do really well... or might not,” another one wrote.

Many were very impressed with the cast of Snowdrop (Seol Kang Hwa). The 2021 drama boasts top Korean stars in the industry, such as Jang Seung Jo, Yoon Se Ah, Kim Hye Yoon, Jung Yoo Jin, and more.

A lot of K-pop idols have expanded their brand to acting. These singers have been acting in their music videos, so they have somehow trained for it already. But just because they had a taste of what it’s like to be an actor, that does not mean things are going to be a piece of cake when they finally do it.

In fact, V of BTS revealed that he cried while filming Hwarang before. Although it’s nothing new for a K-pop idol to eventually try their luck in acting, the BTS star couldn’t seem to shake the pressure off at the time.

V shared that he was very optimistic at first, but the expectations of him to do good or fail in his acting career took a toll on him. The BTS star first kept his emotions to himself because he didn't want the other boys to know that he was stressing out. But, when his worries became too much for him to handle, he finally opened up to them, and they comforted and supported him.
