Following reports that PYBG Corporation is working to lift the ban imposed by the Indian government on "PUBG Mobile," the company announced that it is terminating all services and user access of "PUBG Mobile" and "PUBG Mobile Lite" in India starting Oct 30.

The surprising announcement from PUBG Corporation was earlier shared on its official Facebook account. The decision came as the company's response to the Indian government's decision to ban both "PUBG Mobile" and "PUBG Mobile Lite" on Sept 2. The post also mentioned that all the publishing rights of the hit mobile shooter title would be returned to PUBG Corporation.

The post also underlined that protecting user data is on top of its priority. The company has always complied with the data protection laws of India, the post explained. It went on to thank its Indian fans and players who stood with "PUBG Mobile" and "PUBG Mobile Lite," acknowledged their strong support for the game and the team behind it.

While it looks like PUBG Corporation is working on a solution to have the ban lifted in the country, for now, it is officially banned. A few days ago, fans were hyped when a listing by PUBG Corporation on LinkedIn surfaced online. Some thought that the company is hiring as part of its plan to have "PUBG Mobile" up and running in the regions.

However, the job listing is for the company's console and PC game version, "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds." Since the hit mobile shooter title was banned in India along with 118 other apps, PUBG Corporation has been doing its best to resolve the issue. It withdrew its partnership with the Chinese tech conglomerate Tencent in the hopes that the "China tag" would be removed.

But, the Indian government later asserted that the "PUBG Mobile" ban was due to its violent nature. Interestingly, while "PUBG Mobile" and "PUBG Mobile Lite" are banned in the region, the game's PC and console versions are still up and running in India. It could be one of the reasons behind the recent hiring by the company, which suggested that it is now focusing on the PC and console version of the game in the region.

Meanwhile, PUBG Corporation announced that it would be merging with the South Korean company Krafton Incorporated in a notice posted on its official site. The merger would take effect on Dec 2. The company also shared the process involved in the transfer of players' information.

"Accordingly, personal information of PUBG users will be transferred to KRAFTON Inc. in order to provide continued service. KRAFTON Inc. will retain and use personal information only within the same scope as before and within the scope of obligations under related laws"
