The Golden State Warriors need to figure out what to do with their rights to the second overall pick for the coming 2020 NBA Draft. The word out is that they are listening to offers while other parties claim they are high on James Wiseman. This is despite reports that they have to patiently work on the 7-foot-1 big man, particularly on offense.

Regarding the development of Wiseman, it could be aligned with the transition that the Dubs are planning to make. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are not that young anymore, meaning the Warriors also need to look at their future. The last thing they want is to make the necessary changes when they find their peak again. A clear example is a debacle they experienced last NBA season.

That said, it makes sense that the Dubs are determined to use the rare chance of picking high in the NBA Draft. With only three names standing out, Golden State could get one among Wiseman, Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball and integrate any of them with their long-term plans. However, a good offer can always change the minds of Steve Kerr and company, The Athletic reported.

"Team sources continue to indicate an expectation and even an eagerness to use the second pick and infuse the roster with a young talent that title contenders so rarely get a chance to draft. But the right offer in the next three weeks could certainly pivot them in another direction," Anthony Slater wrote in that report.

With the second overall pick, the Warriors could still select Ball or Edwards, depending on who the Minnesota Timberwolves select first. That would be added insurance for the Dubs, something along the lines of passing on the torch, NBC Sports reported.

The most buzzed option is trading down to take their chance on other players. Deni Avdija is the player that has reportedly impressed the Dubs the most, someone they could get if they opt to go down the drafting order. The New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and the Detroit Pistons have been mentioned as teams looking to move up in the draft to get their hands on Ball or Edwards.

For now, the safe bet is that the Warriors have a target. NBA teams who want to trade up will need to add more assets – something that can hopefully be enough to convince the Dubs.
