Kate Middleton has never made her feelings about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit from the Firm public. However, a friend said the Duchess of Cambridge has a private journal where she writes her frustrations about the whole issue.
According to New Idea, this journal serves as therapy for Kate because she doesn't hold back when she writes her innermost thoughts and feelings down. This apparently helps Prince William's wife avoid publicly venting out or arguing with her in-laws.
The private journal also contains other things of importance for the Duchess of Cambridge. She has mementos and private photos of her day-to-day experiences. The insider said that if the journal were to "fall into the wrong hands," then it will be a nightmare for the royal family as it contains the "juiciest secrets" about their lives.
The shocking revelation comes as Meghan apparently had a different expectation about her sister-in-law. Speaking in the documentary Meghan & Harry: The New Revelations, royal expert Katie Nicholl said that Meghan thought Kate was going to "show her the ropes" as she joined the royal family. But Prince Harry's wife apparently took it personally when this didn't happen.
The biography Finding Freedom stated that Kate and Meghan have never forged a close friendship, but they have a cordial relationship as sisters-in-law. Royal expert Russell Myers also chimed in that the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex come from different backgrounds with different royal family roles, so their personalities and preference may not match.
Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand stated in the book that Kate's loyalty also lies with Prince William, whose rift with Prince Harry is not completely on the mend. So, if Kate isn't doing anything else to bridge the gap between her and Meghan, it's because she obviously sides with Prince William.
However, Vanity Fair reported that Kate made efforts and once sent Meghan flowers after royal reporters wrote about her snub. Apparently, the two women were in the same place in a London shopping strip once, but Kate sped off in her car instead of joining her sister-in-law.
Royal expert Andrew Morton believes that Kate is still "deeply affected" by what's happening to William and Harry, but she's good at hiding it from the public. The biographer of Princess Diana feels sad that the Cambridges and Sussexes aren't getting along well, and the monarchy might suffer because of it since these couples are a "genuine double act."
